Eduroam WiFi

Service Description
Eduroam is an organization that joins educational institutions and allows them to broadcast the same Wi-Fi network, but allows for your local institution's username and password to access that network. The primary purpose for this type of setup is for traveling or visiting other institutions.
The following directions work for the organizations:  Kent ISD, Sparta Area Schools, Comstock Park Public Schools, Kent City Public Schools, Cedar Springs Public Schools

Kent ISD is now an eduroam Support Organization (eSO). Staff and students can use their district credentials to connect to encrypted Wi-Fi at participating K-12 districts, colleges, universities, and tens of thousands of locations worldwide.

  • Automatic Security: Credentials authenticate directly against district IT systems.

  • No Guest Passwords: Eliminates the need to search for open networks or temporary passwords.

  • Safer Connection: Reduces exposure risks associated with unencrypted public Wi-Fi.
