Symptoms

Perform a hard reset on your Chromebook when hardware is not working properly. 

  • Track pad Issues (mouse moving erratically or not at all).
  • Keyboard Issues (keys typing incorrect characters or not at all).
  • Display Issues (not including a physically broken screen).
  • Power Issues (will not power on).

Resolution Steps

  1. Turn off your Chromebook.

  2. Press and hold the Refresh Gray Refresh symbol and Power Gray Power symbol buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds.
  3. Release both buttons.

  4. Power the Chromebook on normally

  5. See if the hardware issue is now resolved.
